Growing up

Saturday we went out looking for a BIG BOY bed for Kaleb. We decided it was time becacause Jazelle is out growing her bassinet. Since Kaleb was climbing in and out of his crib everynight and morning we figured he was ready for a big bed. Before we gave him lots of warnings that jazelle would be sleeping in the crib and he would have a new bed! We tried to make it exciting for him. And he understood very well and was excited. So we went to a couple stores after naptime that saturday, and finally found the one! We were at Babies-R-Us and found this beautiful bed and we gave kaleb a chance to pick out his new bedding, he picked The Sports theme then changed his mind because he saw a Lightening McQueen bed, but I wanted to have something simple. Plus the sports makes him look like a big boy. We purchased the bed and went to Walmart across the street to find a cheaper mattress. After being there for a 1/2 trying to get someone to help us get a mattress down we left and headed over to Target, where we bought the same mattress we have in the crib.

Jason and Kaleb both put the bed together after church while I was at Choir practice. I came home, and Kaleb was so excited to show me his bed he says.. "Mom come check this out!" That night we decided to have Kaleb sleep in his new bed, since he did not take a nap that day he was exhausted, and fell asleep within 5 min. We kept checking on him and he would be fast asleep still. He not once got out of his bed! the whole night.

So now that Kaleb was in his new bed I decided to try and move Jazelle into the crib. Yesterday I layed her in it and she seemed to enjoy it. She looked around, kicked her feet and smiled. Yay she likes it. So Monday I decided to start having her sleep in it. I layed her in it for all her naps, and shse did great, I just turn on the Fish aquarium mobile and she falls asleep. Since Kaleb and Jazelle both take an afternoon nap I decided to try and have them sleep in the same room together, since they are going to be sharing. It took awhile for them both to fall asleep and they eventually did. I even got a nap in myself. I was surprised that Kaleb stayed quite during naptime, while Jazelle was sleeping. So I wanted to try having Jazelle sleep in the crib at night, that wasn't so easy. Last night she woke up alot and woke kaleb up because she was so loud so I decided to bring her back to her bassinet after getting up 3 times in 3 hours. So I will stick to naps only for now. I just can't believe how much my kids are growing Jazelle is 6 months today! And Kaleb just keeps surprising us everyday. He is so smart. I was a little frustrated yesterday because he doesn't listen when I tell him No, and he says "Mommy be calm!" WHAT! I have a 2 yr old telling me to be calm.

A Day out with Thomas!

On the Friday Jason was off work we had surprised Kaleb and took him to see Thomas the Tank Engine at our local train station. We arrived there in the morning (9:40) and our train departure was at (10:40). They had a few different activies also set up that day.
Jazelle enjoying the Beautiful day.
She did really good with only a 30 min nap on the drive up.
Kaleb and Jason  playing musical instraments, while listening to the live entertainment.

Another activity they had was golf! This was one of Kaleb's favorites.

And of course they had plenty of train tables. Kaleb could have stayed here all day. It was funny because this day I noticed a lot of kids throwing fits , because they didn't want to leave.

Jazelle just loved hanging out with Mommy.

Funny story...  well not so much. On the drive up to the train station, we were driving down through the country side, and the driver ahead of us kept swirving through the lanes, Jason and I are worried because we have no idea what is going on. At first we thought he was on his phone or something. But that wasn't the case because his behavior did not stop. The speed limit on the road was 60mph and at some times he was following the car ahead of him very closly still swirving. So at one point Jason catches up to this crazy driver and I'm telling him to back off because if this guy crashes we would not have anytime to stop! so i'm freaking out at this point. Jason keeps asking me if I want to call 911 and report this but I was too nervous. Then we loose track of the guy, and next thing we see is the guys car on the opposite side of the road, facing cars! He had made it some how to the other side of the road! crashed into the railing and popped his tires. A truck driver had stopped to help this guy out!

Today was the community Easter Eggstravaganza!   We had so much fun and Kaleb collected alot of eggs and candy! He even got a "winner" egg which got him a free kids meal
at Stonefire Grill! He was also a star that day because he got is picture taken by a newspaper photagrapher and it was published in the Sunday edition of the Daily News!

The cool thing about this event was that they had sectioned off the park acording to age groups, As soon as it was time to hunt the egss were gone within 5 min! Kaleb really enjoyed this event and we look forward to Jazelle participating next year!

The Easter Bunny was there to visit also.

Best Friends

Date Night

The Day Date

Arrange for the kids to spend part of their Saturday with friends and make your date night a date day. Go to a nice restaurant for lunch—which is usually much more affordable—and then catch a matinee movie or go for a long walk in the park. Make sure to take your camera and get some rare pictures of just the two of you.

Over The Hills..

To Grandma and Grandpa's house we went. Yesterday we had the opportunity to go and visit my parents at their house in Palmdale. Kaleb had a great time while we were there he got to play soccer, crocket, and visit the horse, goats and dogs. Jazelle enjoyed herself as well, she's never seen so many dogs in her life. She really likes to look at new things. Kaleb got her laughing so much at one point while he was playing soccer. Everytime he ran and kicked the ball she would just laugh and laugh it was so cute. I am so blessed to have the faamily that I have, and the love they have for my children.

Emergency Expo 2009

This year once again our city hosted an Emergency Expo. They had all kinds of Emergency vehicles, an Earthquake simulator, lots of companies that had info about emergency preparedness. Jason had to work again this year and missed out. So we joined up with some friends of ours there.

Spring Is In The Air

Oh How I love Spring. We have had such Beautiful weather, I am enjoying every minute of it. The flowers are blooming and Birds are singing. And Jason has decided to Make a Garden. Him and Kaleb went to The Home Depot and gathered the supplies. Kaleb got to help Jason with the garden by using the drill and filling the dirt. Kaleb sure loves his Daddy time, because Daddy does the fun stuff. Jazelle and I went shopping while the boys worked! That's the way it should be right? haha
So in our Garden we have planted Tomatoes, squash, lettuce, Jalipeno peppers, carrots,  Okra and strawberries. We shall see how long it lasts.

The Cook

At least there is someone in our house that likes to cook!

Here Kaleb is making his own Pizza.
