11 months

Jazelle is now 11 months old. She is growing bigger and getting smarter everyday. She loves her big brother Kaleb. Jazelle can now crawl on her knees, watch out because she sure is fast! I am constantly looking around the house to find her. She loves to chase Kaleb and have Kaleb chase her. Any type of animals she is very passionate about. If she sees a dog or cat she will let out a big squeal. Jazelle can now pull herself up and cruise across the couch. We have been practicing walking with her, and she is doing pretty good. She has great balance. She can climb upstairs but goes head down to get down. Jazelle prefers to eat "real" food rather than baby food.
She loves pasta, cheese, bread, pizza crust, french fries and bananas. She still has no teeth, and no sign of any coming through. But she sure loves to eat. Jazelle will clap her hands when she is excited, she loves to explore everywhere in the house. I find her in the kitchen cupboards and in the bathroom standing against the tub, she loves to open and close doors. which leaves her locked in the bedrooms at times. Jazelle has started to throw tantrums, it is so cute, when she is unhappy about something she will the throw herself back onto the floor and fuss. This rarely happens so I can tolerate it. What a beautiful little angel she is turning into, don't you agree? Another thing I forgot to mention is that when Jason comes home or even when he wakes up in the morning and comes to greet us Jazelle instantly crawls toward him to greet him with a big smile it is too cute! I get it sometimes to when I return home, but more so for her Daddy.

LA County Fair

A couple weeks ago we had the opportunity to go to the La County Fair. Jason had Friday off so we decided to go that day. They had a deal on Fridays if you brought in Ralph's brand can goods then you get free admission. Kaleb was so excited to go to the Fair.

Kaleb got to ride on a few rides and play some games. He kept asking to go on the Ferris wheel all day, but when we got up to the line he would chicken out. But brave him saw this boat ride that went back and forth and decided to do that instead. Not knowing it was worse than the Ferris Wheel. Jason went on the ride with him, it started out slowly back and forth then began going faster and whipping around. I saw Kaleb huddled so closely to Jason. Poor thing, but he is a brave boy sometimes. He went through this maze all by himself where he had to climb a rope latter cross 2 bridges and go down this sleep slide to the end. He did such a great job!

The fair grounds was huge! and that day it was 95* outside so we headed indoors for most of the time. They had very cool exhibits this one was "Africa" everything was covered in flowers and or fruit.

Here is Princess Jazelle.
This was a place set for little princesses. They had dress up, and a pretend house where the kids could role play. Kaleb would pretend to vacuum. While we got shots of Jazelle in the Princess chair.

Another place to keep cool. This building was full of Dinosaurs, that would move and roar! Kaleb was afraid at first, I had to tell them they weren't real they were robots. Then he loved them. Of course Jazelle was fascinated with them.

Kaleb here is shopping.
There was a Ralph's junior store, where they have the kid sized shopping carts. The store was a full grocery store, with empty item boxes and wax fruits and vegetables. Kaleb had a blast going down the isles picking the things he wanted to put in his basket. He was a pro thanks to me! This is the only way I can get him to behave at the real store, is by letting him push the kiddie cart around.

What's a fair with out the petting zoo!

Once again Jazelle was in Heaven! She had never seen these animals before and was so interested in them.

Kaleb was afraid at first but then warmed up.
There were so many sheep in this thing and they all were looking for food, because you could feed them also, so they thought everyone had food and were not shy to come running up to you.

Jazelle was so excited.

This stroller was a life saver thanks to my friend Shay. I have no idea what I would have done without it, Kaleb loved it and did not want to get out and walk.
We had lunch at the fair also I had a huge sausage, and Jason got the turkey leg. Kaleb ate grilled corn and loved every bit of it, and Jazelle ate the bun from my sausage.

What a long day it was. We watched a couple shows, Jason had the urge to get a fried twinky, and we bought Kettle corn before we left.

I am so grateful for the family time we get to spend with each other.
And make new memories.

A New Calling

So I have received a new calling in my church as the Activities Chairperson. Basically I come up with and are in charge of the activities for our ward. This Blog post is basically for ideas.
What activities do your wards have? Or what have you've done in the past? The big one I have to plan is Christmas. Please help thanks.

1st Visit

Last week Kaleb went to his 1st Dental visit. He was pretty nervous about the whole thing. We went before hand to take a tour of the office and I told him all things to expect. The day of his appt. he seemed pretty excited.

Here Kaleb is in the waiting room playing a video game.
He was pretty into it.

In the dental chair, not so excited anymore.
He actually started to freak out when they pulled out the "tooth brush" , the dentist showed him how it would "tickle" onto his fingernail. I had to sit in the chair with Kaleb on my lap. He then felt a little more at ease. The dentist then did her thing, she had Kaleb open his mouth and counted each one of his teeth. She then got out the mirror and the pick and counted again. He has no cavities! yay then she brushed/ tickled each tooth. And for the fun part she sprayed water into his mouth and used the sucking hose to suck it out! Kaleb liked that part. She was very impressed on how Kaleb did for his 1st visit. I was too proud of him.

Here Jazelle waits patiently for her brother to be done.
They gave her a balloon and she thought it was the best toy ever!

Kaleb and his dentist.
Kaleb got to pick 2 toys out of the treasure chest because he did so good.
He also received a new tooth brush, floss, and a sand timer. when the sand runs out he is all done brushing, what a great idea. He loves to use it every night.
He'll go back again in 6 months.

Bribery

So knowing how much Kaleb loves money I have found this idea of making fake money for him, to get him to use the potty. Once he earns money then he can spend it on something he really likes. This site is so cool because you can put anyone's picture on it, and it looks real.
It worked only once!

Creative Side

After receiving my 1st Diaper Cake at Kaleb's Baby shower, I've thought it was a great baby present and I wanted to learn to make them. One day I got onto the internet and looked up how to make a Diaper cakes. And made 2 that same night. It was so much fun. So recently I just made one for a friend of mine that is due soon. Kaleb loves to help me, he picks out each of the rubber bands.

Kaleb got this shot of me, on action.

The finished product.

Just a little frustrated

aghh Parenting is so hard sometimes. Ever since Kaleb has started school he has added some new things to his vocabulary.

"I don't like you"
"Get away"
"I wasn't talking to you"

um Hello? where did my sweet boy go?

another frustration of mine, POTTY TRAINING!

Everyone in Kaleb's class is potty trained, how did their mom's do it?
I am having such a hard time. Kaleb will sit on the potty but nothing! every blue moon we get a surprise. I have set the timer on every 30 min we go. I got too exhausted and stopped or have forgoten. Jazelle is all over the house now, I am busy doing something turn around and have to look all over the house to find her. I just can't keep an eye out for her and Kaleb at the same time. I just wish I could hire someone to potty train Kaleb for me.
He is so stuborn. I have put him in big boy underwear, and he has had accidents, but they don't faze him he just changes into a clean pair of undies. Help does anyone have any ideas?

Field Trip

Kaleb's preschool has field trips every month, their first trip was to McDonalds. What kid does not like McDonalds? They were taken on a tour "behind scenes" The kids got to see the drive thru window with an actual costumer at it. Kaleb really liked that part.
They saw where they made the french fries, and hambugers. It was pretty fun.

The highlight, the manager gave the kids bubbles from the dish washing sink.

They were taken into the walk in fridge and freezer, it was very cold!
felt good though, that day it was in the high 90s.

Waiting for their lunch.
Haley, Xander, Kaleb, and Daniel.

Jordan, Jackson, Zack, and Saffron.

After lunch they all got to enjoy an ice cream treat.

This month they are visiting the California Pizza Kitchen to make their own pizzas.

10 months

Jazelle is now 10 months old. She has just started learning to crawl on her knees, but chooses to drag herself across the floor. She has become very quick moving also. When we catch her with something she isn't supposed to be doing she quickly tries to get away from us! She loves her big brother Kaleb, and wants to do what he is doing. She also enjoys playing with his toys, the cars she drives back and forth across the floor and chases after the balls she bounces. She has said her 1st word. "ugh Oh". She loves music, and loves to flip through pages of books. Her favorite kind of books are the touch and feel type. She loves animal sounds, they almost always make her laugh. She is a mommy's and daddy's girl. We are so grateful to have her part of our family, she brings us such happiness and joy.
