Audition

Jazelle went to her Print Audition for Gymboree on Monday. We had to arrive there between 9 am and 12pm. I had a babysitter lined up a few days in advance for Kaleb and the night before had cancelled because she was sick and had to go into the hospital. I was stressing out because this was Jazelle's first appt. and I did not want to cancel. So I called around and finally got a friend of mine to watch Kaleb. I dropped him off the next morning and headed down to Culver City. I am so grateful for the carpool lane, and the GPS. We got there around 10:30. It took awhile to find parking, there were none on the street so I had to drive a little further and parked in a near by neighborhood. Jazelle had been sleeping the whole time, and I actually had to wake her up. We got into the building to find a lot of people and kids waiting for their number to be called. We were number 117. I had brought toys and snacks to keep Jazelle happy. She just loved seeing all the other babies. I had actually saw a friend of mine from High school there with her 2 little ones. We had waited probably a little over a 1/2 hour and it was Jazelle's turn. They had her sit and then took multiple pictures of her, I was happy she smiled! So I have no idea when we would hear back to see if we got it or not. We will just wait and see.

This is the outfit Jazelle wore!

I think she was the cutest one there.

First day of School!

Kaleb started his first day of preschool on Tues. Aug.18Th! He was so happy to be going to school! In the morning he ran around with excitement, and couldn't contain himself. We had a yummy breakfast and got dressed. It seemed like it took forever because he would not sit still.

Here Kaleb is with his backpack ready to go!

We got to school and he literally ran inside ahead of me! While passing the other kids, who were still hanging by their mother's sides. His teacher Grandma K took a picture of him, and then he went on to exploring. The weekend before school started his teachers put on an Open House for the kids and parents to get to know the school as well as each other.
So Kaleb was very comfortable.

His best friend Daniel also attends the same school.

Here is Kaleb's classmates at "circle time" Kaleb got to stand up and share his Magic 8 ball. Then Teacher Ms. Shirley taught then 2 magic words! and sang them a song,
Please and Thank you
those are the magic words!

Kaleb loves to sings songs, and he would repeat this over and over at home! it was wonderful!
He really does listen at school.

I can't believe I have a preschooler! He loves to learn and be involved, he is so smart. and I know he will do well.

Happy Birthday

Kaleb had his 3rd Birthday on August 28th. The night before I had asked Kaleb what he wanted to eat for breakfast and he chose Donuts. So that morning we went out and got donuts, Kaleb picked the chocolate sprinkle kind, and ate every single bit. Also the night before we were invited
to go and join some friends at the beach, so after breakfast we got ready to go to the beach.
Kaleb had a blast with all his friends. Later on that night Jason came home early and we took Kaleb to Chuck E Cheeses for pizza and games.

Birthday Party

We celebrated Kaleb's Birthday with family that weekend. I had planned for us to go swimming and just hang out.
We've asked Kaleb many times what kind of party he wanted and he has told us Dinosaur every
time. So I being the procrastinator did not order a cake. I was searching the web and came across a dinosaur cake that you can make yourself. I watched the "how to video" and got excited. Went out and bought all the ingredients, and was impressed that it was cheaper to make your
own cake, and more fun.

Kaleb received so much stuff, and loves everything he got.

Thanks to all who came to celebrate this occasion.

Children's Garden

This past week I invited a friend of mine and her daughter to join us for a day at The Huntington Library. The Huntington is a huge garden, and every month they have a free day, where you have to request tickets to go. I had requested 5 tickets and was able to invite a friend. Let me tell you what an adventure we had. This place was 50min away from where we live and it took us an hour and a half! to get there. I had printed directions from Mapquest and we still got lost. We went from missing the freeway sign to not seeing any of the street signs. After driving around and around we decided to stop at a gas station and ask for directions. The Gardens were right under our noses practically. The Mapquest directions were so wrong. And it was worse that neither of us were good at directions. I always get lost while driving somewhere new. We sure wished we had a GPS.
We finally arrived, the weather was beautiful, the trees and flowers too.

The children's garden had water features! that's where we were most of the time.

Santa Monica

A few weeks ago our playgroup went to the Santa Monica pier. I was hesitant because Kaleb does not like the beach at all! The sand, the water he doesn't want anything to do with it, but I had to get out of the house and decided to just go for it. We stopped by the store ahead of time and got a few snacks and lunchables for lunch. We arrived at the beach later that morning. Kaleb's attitude had changed, he was so excited to be there because all his friends were there too. He walked on the sand, which helped me out a lot, cause I was carring Jazelle a backpack, the umbrella, and a blanket. I reliezed I had forgot his sand toys at home. Luckly a guy comes by selling sand toys! perfect! so I bought a bucket of toys for $5 for Kaleb. He really enjoyed playing in the sand with his friends. But still did not like the water. Jazelle was as happy as can be. She really loves being outside and around people. Just like her mom.

Produce

Look what our Garden has produced! and a lot of them, I had no idea what to do with these so while talking to a friend of mine, she said she had just made Salsa with her tomatoes. I let her know that I was interested in getting the recipe so she sent it to me along with some ingredients I had not had in my home so that I can make it right away. The salsa came out wonderfully.

Nothings better than home made!

This weekend we had a photo shoot for our kids to build up their portfolios. Jason did an amazing job and Kaleb & Jazelle were very cooperative. I am happy with the photos we got. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon so we headed down to the LA Temple to shoot some pictures. I can't think of a better place to be.

Can he build it? Yes he can!

The Home Depot hosts a Free workshop for kids, the 1st Saturday of every month, where they can go and build the selected project for that month. This month they were building a "Message Box" I thought Kaleb would especially like this because he gets to use tools! Real ones! It is so cute, this was our 1st time going, so they gave Kaleb an Home Depot Apron with his name on it. Since Jason likes to build things I decided that he and Kaleb can do it together. Great father/ son bonding time. The tools were all laid out on the tables along with the project.

Kaleb waiting for daddy's instructions.

Showing me his tools, the hammer and the screw driver.

Kaleb did such a great job hammering, and had fun too!

The next step the glue!

The finished product!
After finishing the project they get a certificate of completion, and a pin to wear on your apron, with the project picture and name.
I think this will be our new thing to do every month.
